If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?
I was born Miracle.
A name filled with hope, wonder, and the belief that something extraordinary is possible. Growing up, I carried that name with me, but at some point, I chose another name for myself: Serenity.
Serenity felt like the person I wanted to become. It represented peace, calmness, and a quiet confidence. It was a reminder that no matter how chaotic life became, I could still find stillness within myself.
And for a long time, Serenity fit.
But if someone asked me today, “If you had to change your name again, what would it be?” my answer would be Kairos.
Not because I’ve outgrown Miracle.
Not because I’ve stopped being Serenity.
But because Kairos captures something I have come to value deeply: timing.
Kairos is a Greek word that means the right or appointed moment. It isn’t about time measured by clocks or calendars. It’s about the moments that matter—the opportunities, turning points, and divine appointments that have the power to change everything.
The more I experience life, the more I realize that timing is important.
You can have talent, dreams, and ambition, but sometimes what changes your life is being ready when your moment arrives.
A conversation.
A decision.
A new beginning.
A leap of faith.
A door that opens when you least expect it.
Those are Kairos moments.
Looking back, my life has been shaped by many of them. Some came disguised as opportunities. Others arrived as challenges that forced me to grow. Some made me uncomfortable, while others gave me exactly what I had been praying for.
Each one taught me that life is not just about who you are; it’s also about recognizing the moments that are meant for you.
Miracle reminds me of where I started.
Serenity reminds me of who I chose to become.
Kairos reminds me of where I am going.
A life lived with intention. A life that recognizes opportunities. A life that trusts that some moments arrive exactly when they are supposed to.
So if I ever had to change my name again, I think it would be Kairos.
Because sometimes one moment can change everything.
