Love at First Presence: Wednesday & Thursday Chronicles

Hi, my loves.

Welcome back to another episode of Love at First Presence, the series where absolutely nothing is happening… yet somehow everything is happening.

Wednesday

Wednesday was a busy day.

I was working with the management and welfare teams, while Mr. Tall, Classy and Fine was busy with his own team downstairs.

Now, when I say his team is downstairs and mine is upstairs, please understand that this information becomes important because this man kept passing my office.

Constantly.

Frequently.

Repeatedly.

At first, I thought, “Okay, maybe he has work upstairs.”

Then it happened again.

And again.

And again.

Sir, are we running a marathon?

At one point, he even came to stand near my window.

Just stood there.

Doing absolutely nothing.

No conversation.

No work.

No explanation.

Just vibes.

And honestly, the only conclusion I could reach was that perhaps he hadn’t gotten his daily glance of me and was struggling to breathe.

I understand.

I am very oxygen-like.

That was Wednesday.

Thursday

Now grab your cup because Thursday came with premium tea.

During the morning meeting, he was greeting everyone.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning.”

“Good morning.”

You know, the usual office greetings.

Then it was my turn.

And for reasons I still cannot explain, I turned my face away.

Not intentionally.

Okay, maybe a little intentionally.

So he didn’t greet me.

Or maybe he did and I missed it.

Who knows?

Later, when we met in the general office, I greeted him properly.

“Good morning, sir.”

And he smiled and replied.

Mission accomplished.

Now, I didn’t have much work that day.

Just three meetings and a few discussions with my team.

Meanwhile, this man appeared to be booked and busy.

Different meetings.

Different schedules.

Different responsibilities.

Yet somehow, he still found time to visit the general office where I was peacefully resting.

He walked in and announced:

“Why is Miss Miracle sleeping?”

I ignored him.

He came back again.

“My wife is sleeping today. She’s not even going to check on the other offices. Somebody should check up on her team.”

Excuse me?

My wife?

Sir.

Sir.

What exactly are we doing here?

Of course, I still ignored him because apparently I enjoy suffering.

Now, if it were me, I would have simply walked over, tapped the person awake and spoken to them.

But no.

This man chose diplomacy.

Instead, he came closer to my desk and actually bent down to check underneath it to confirm whether I was truly sleeping.

At that point, I couldn’t help smiling.

And unfortunately, that smile was witnessed by one of my male colleagues.

Big mistake.

Immediately, he asked:

“Why are you smiling like that?”

Before I could answer, another one joined.

“This smile is not for your fellow workers o. This kind of smile is reserved for your spouse.”

Please.

Can everyone mind their business?

I was simply smiling.

Okay, maybe I wasn’t simply smiling.

But still.

Mind your business.

The Great Laundry Revelation

Now let me tell you where things became serious.

While having a conversation with another colleague, he casually mentioned that he washes his clothes three times a week.

Three.

Times.

A.

Week.

Immediately, my future-wife simulation software activated.

I started imagining myself as his girlfriend.

Then his wife.

Then the person responsible for all these hypothetical clothes.

And suddenly I became concerned.

Very concerned.

Because in my imagination, I was already tired.

I said to myself:

“Oh no. I don’t think I can keep up with this man.”

Every time he talks, I somehow end up imagining our entire relationship.

Then I start assessing compatibility.

Then I start creating problems that do not exist.

Then I start solving those problems.

All while this man is simply discussing laundry.

Honestly, I think he’s a little hard and I’m a little soft.

Maybe that’s why I find him interesting.

Or maybe I’m just overthinking again.

Probably both.

Anyway, tomorrow is June 12, so there’ll be no office.

And as of today, this man still has not collected my number.

The audacity.

The confidence.

The delay.

We’ll see what next week brings.

Until then, my loves, keep me in your prayers.

Because at this rate, one of us will eventually have to speak.

XOXO,

Miracle
